Scott R. Konrad

Scott R. Konrad leads Frank Crystal’s nationwide Nonprofit practice, which serves the unique corporate risk and insurance needs of over 1,500 secular and religious nonprofit organizations.  Based in New York, Scott joined Frank Crystal in 2010 from Willis, where he built a New York-based center of excellence serving prominent global, national, and regional nonprofit entities.

A graduate of Colgate University, Scott launched his insurance career in 1977 with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and transitioned three years later to the brokerage sector, advocating for a diverse clientele, including museums and cultural institutions, as a vice president of global brokers Johnson & Higgins and Marsh & McLennan.  In 1996, Scott joined the Church Insurance Companies, the denominational insurance arm of the Episcopal Church, for which he established a regional service center and managed deployment of the companies’ products and services to over 2,000 institutional clients in 20 Episcopal dioceses throughout 11 Northeastern states.  He reentered the mainstream brokerage sector in 2003 as a senior sales executive with Willis.

Scott earned professional accreditation in Risk Management for Churches and Schools from the University of Cambridge (UK).  An Advisory Board member for the Institute for Church Safety & Risk Management, he is a contributing author for the Episcopal Church’s Manual of Business Methods in Church Affairs and teaches a risk management course for NeighborWorks®  America, a federally-funded nationwide community development corporation.  Scott earned industry recognition when he was designated a finalist Power Broker® to the Nonprofit sector by Risk & Insurance magazine in its February 2010 issue.

Active in his community, Scott has served in elected leadership capacities with a variety of professional, civic, and religious nonprofit organizations.
